Personal Life
Family
Bart is married to Katherine and is the father of three children and grandfather of five. Rebuilding and protecting his family has been one of the most meaningful parts of his life, shaping the man he has become and grounding his journey in love, responsibility, and commitment.
Faith
Bart credits his spiritual connection as the foundation of his recovery and inner peace. Rather than religion alone, he believes in a personal relationship with faith as a guiding force that brings clarity, humility, and direction through life's most difficult seasons.
Resilience
Through financial loss, health challenges, and personal struggles, Bart learned how to endure without giving up. Each setback strengthened his resolve and deepened his understanding that growth often comes through hardship.
The Writing Journey
Writing It's a Silver Lining! was one of the most personal experiences of my life. It required me to slow down, look back honestly, and revisit moments I had spent years trying to move past. Each chapter was written with care, not just to tell my story, but to understand it.
This book is not only a reflection of where I've been, but of what I learned along the way. In writing it, I came to see how even the most painful experiences carried lessons I could not have gained any other way.
I share this memoir in the hope that someone reading it recognizes parts of their own story. If my experiences help even one person see their struggles differently or find strength to keep moving forward, then writing this book was worth it.
